Have you ever woken up in the morning and thought, ‘I want to be surprised today. I want something unexpected to happen. Something wonderful!?”
Lately I’ve found myself thinking this thought more and more. And it seems that the more I think it (and pray it), the more I receive it.
About four weeks ago my daughter spotted a Mary Kay pink car in our Walmart parking lot. She was completely thrilled by it, because she had never seen a pink car. I told her that whoever owned that car had worked really hard for it for a number of years and had received it as a reward. She said, “Oh mom, I’d love to have a ride in one of those cars.” I said, “Well, let’s pray and ask God to give us a ride.” Not two weeks later a lady pulled up to us in a Mary Kay pink car! We chatted for a bit and then she insisted on giving us a ride because we were walking to the Post Office. We exchanged numbers and I gave her my website address. She went to my site and loved my writing so much that she asked if she could use my poems to motivate and encourage those that she sends her monthly newsletter to.
That is just ONE surprise of late. There have been many more. So I’m continuing to hold that thought about God surprises and let it spring forth liberally from my lips. I hope I’ve inspired you to do the same.
